The bookies may not fancy their chances but in 100 years of NFL we have seen a lot of upsets. Check out the best 100-1 shots in the futures markets as the NFL gears up for its 100th season in 2019.Embed from Getty
Patrick Mahomes (+600) is favorite on the board but you can get 100-1 (+10000) on a number of first team quarterbacks including Matt Stafford, Sam Darnold, Jameis Winston, Josh Allen, Joe Flacco, and Andy Dalton.
The MVP normally goes to a quarterback but if you fancy a wide receiver you’re in luck. All the big names are available at 100-1, including Odell Beckham Jr, Michael Thomas, Julio Jones and DeAndre Hopkins. You can also get ‘Miami Ice’ Antonio Brown at +15000.
No defensive player has won since 1976 (Lawrence Taylor) but if you like Khalil Mack or J.J. Watt you can get +10000 for them to pick up the top award.

The league is known for its ups and downs but can a team rated at +10000 really win the Super Bowl?
Sportsbooks think the following teams have little chance of lifting the Lombardi: Lions, Buccaneers, Broncos, Bills, Redskins, Giants, Cardinals and Raiders.
The above teams are all +10000. Spare a thought for the teams the books really don’t like – the Bengals and Dolphins are +15000.
Passing yards leader
Mahomes (+600) is favorite to be top passer again as he chases another 5000+ yard year.
In this category the 100-1 guys include Cam Newton, Dak Prescott, Nick Foles and Joe Flacco.
These fellas rarely break 4000 yards. That said, Foles has never played a full season. And considering the ongoing running back negotiations in Dallas, they may need to scheme a few more passing plays for Prescott this year.
Rushing yards leader
Zeke Elliott (+350) tops the book but at the time of writing he could be set to sit out part of the season.
The Ravens are building a whole new playbook to work around Lamar Jackson but the bookies still don’t think the dynamic young quarterback will top the rushing-yards list.
He should have more rushing attempts than most QBs but he’s 100-1 shot to finish ahead of all the running backs in total yards.
Actual running backs named as 100-1 shots to win this category include Kenyan Drake, Jordan Howard and rookie David Montgomery.
Receiving TDs leader
It normally takes around 15 touchdowns to lead the league and this year Davante Adams and DeAndre Hopkins (+1100) top the betting.
There are some interesting names in the 100-1 band including veterans, rookies, tight ends and running backs. Larry Fitzgerald, Marquise Goodwin, Evan Engram, D.K. Metcalf, James White and Saquon Barkley.
Rookie Mecole Hardman (+10000) could be popular after he showed some Tyreek Hill-like speed for the Chiefs in the preseason opener.
